The CASA-Melbourne academic program explores Melbourne’s place locally and globally, its history and future, and its links to its indigenous communities. The University of Melbourne, currently the number 1 ranked institution in Australia, offers a flexible design that allows students to combine over 100 areas of study.  One of the world’s most livable cities, Melbourne, Australia is also one of its most multicultural. MIDDLEBURY: ARGENTINA/URUGUAY – INFO SESSION

The largest Spanish-speaking country in the world, Argentina is known locally as “The Land of the Six Continents” for its geographic and climatic diversity. Students on Middlebury programs must come in at intermediate/advanced levels of Spanish and adhere to the Middlebury Language Pledge. While abroad, students live. in homestays and study with local students at approved partners institutions. By living and studying with local residents and getting involved in the community through volunteer work, internships, and extracurricular activities, students can build authentic relationships and fully integrate into life in their host city. CASA: SANTIAGO – STUDY ABROAD INFO SESSION

The CASA Santiago program aims to provide students with the opportunity for full immersion into Chilean culture and Spanish language, while receiving credit toward their home school degree. The program is available to students form all academic disciplines who have had a minimum of five-six semesters of college-level Spanish (or the equivalent). Students take a Pro-Seminar course designed specifically for CASA students. CASA also assists each student with course enrollment at one or more to 3 top universities for direct enrollment courses taken with local university students. Homestays are an integral part of many of SIT Study Abroad’s programs. During this webinar, participants will receive an overview of SIT’s approach to homestays, learn about the vetting process for homestay families, and begin to realize the extraordinary learning opportunity that comes from living with a local family and more.  The webinar will also include a panel of former students who will share homestay experiences while on SIT programs.

Join us for a Q&A with Jay Craven, Senior Consultant for Semester Cinema and an award-winning independent filmmaker. Semester Cinema provides a learning adventure firmly grounded in film-making and the liberal arts, which begins with a 1-week excursion to the Sundance Film Festival. In the following 7 weeks, students focus on daily classes, hands-on workshops, and master classes with visiting artists. Instruction is designed to prepare participants for the 6-week production of a feature-length film.
